About this site's development
This is the April 2008 edition of the web site. It is the first major revision.
The main pages, about a dozen of them, have a common layout designed to accommodate several issues such accessibility, navigation, functionality and so on. The pages have to work for a wide variety of browser products, screen sizes, network bandwidth, and so on.
Current status:
The first draft of this version of the NWSSA web site was completed September, 2007. This April 2008 version simplifies the navigation and improves the banner.
Implementation Notes
Personal email addresses on the contacts page and elsewhere have been obfusticated by translating the mailto url into ascii character codes and URL character codes. Refer to the following articles for detail. Obfustication like this has unknown effectiveness. It is known that sophisticated spambots will not be fooled by this methods. However, it may be effective against the majority of spambots. One data point is that my home page had my email address obfusticated and over an eight month period that email address received only 3 junk emails per month on the average. Maybe it would have been the same in clear text, don't know!
