Virtual Symposium

2021 Winter Virtual Symposium Schedule

We hope you plan to join us for our LIVE Presentations January 16-18 2021!

Three days of morning coffee, presentations, and evening campfires punctuating a weekend of coordinated carving (if you want) and getting to see each other's faces and new works. Share a video of your studio if you didn't last time around! Play or cheer on your favorite contestant in Geopardy! with "Alex" Trevor Contreras as your host! Show us your new work (in progress ok) on our theme of Balance!

If you've registered already but haven't accessed the forum yet, go to www.nwssa2020.org and create an account. This is the website that the forum will center around. The "Registration Desk" has all the information you need to be able to use the site, post pictures, reply to comments, and send messages to other sculptors.

If you already have an account on the forum from our last virtual symposium in August, we ask that you still register on the NWSSA website and pay $55. This registration fee will cover the cost of the forum, administrative fees, and payments to the presenters.

Virtual Stone Carving Forum

DanandMaya

We are going to keep the forum up and active through the winter with a presentation or two each month on the second Saturday. October 10th is the next one.

In August, we hosted a private online forum to share videos, pictures, have Q&A discussions, watch live presentations, and much more. Our live event was held August 5-9th, 2020.

We were able to bring a sense of togetherness during this time of separation and distance, when we are all missing each other, and Stone Camp. This event was such a success that our participants requested that we keep the forum running! Going forward, we hope to host monthly social Zoom calls. Our next virtual event is scheduled for Saturday, October 10th

All members who didn't register for the virtual symposium are invited to sign up with a $25 donation to NWSSA to cover software, admin fees.

Private Conversations & Social Zoom Meetings
You can strike up with other carvers and join social Zoom calls in the evenings – perhaps even with multiple campfires. 😊

We’re doing this to bring a sense of togetherness during this time of separation and distance. We all miss each other, and we are missing Stone Camp. Let’s make the most of this and take the week to encourage and inspire each other as only we can!
The minimal cost of $50 per person is to cover software, admin fees, and to bolster the NWSSA general fund to cover our yearly costs like book-keeping, insurance, printing that are usually paid for by symposium fees.
